TorqDriveTM
Advantage Products Inc newest development, the TorqDrive™, was installed in the Kindersley area in Saskatchewan on November 17, 2009. The TorqDrive™ replaced an existing hydraulic drive head unit on this well. Power measurements before and after the installation showed the TorqDrive™ power consumption was 7.2 kW less than the hydraulic drive head for the same speed and flow rates. This is a savings of 22% and equates to an annual power cost savings of over $6,000 per year and a reduction of CO2 emissions at the power plant of more than 50 tons per year. In addition to the efficiency benefits, the operator has been able to operate this well at much higher speeds and production rates than was possible with the old drive head. Also, the original drive head on the well required a service crew to come out to shut the well down and change sheaves and belts to achieve the same speed range as the TorqDrive™. The operator can change the speed on the TorqDrive™ simply by just changing the speed set point in the control panel. The speed on this unit has been changed several times since it was installed. The TorqDrive™ has operated trouble free since installation and the operator is so impressed that they have requested additional units for installation
TorqStopperTM
The TorqStopperTM has been in service in an oil well in the Taber, Alberta region for more than six years and has never required servicing or repair. This high volume and high speed pump production well has been serviced with six new pumps during this period of time and during each servicing the TorqStopperTM has been analyzed for wear and tear and shows no signs of damage.
This is truly remarkable considering that competitors’ torque ancor's require frequent servicing or even replacement. The savings in time and money are significant and this customer is using the TorqStopperTM on other wells with the same rate of success. It is no wonder that the TorqStopperTM has captured over 90 percent of the Heavy Oil No Turn tool market in Canada.
PCPStabilizerTM
In a high volume, high speed oil well in Southern Alberta that had a history of wear and sheared tubing, an API StabilizerTM has been functioning trouble free for more than 2 years and has alleviated problems related to fatigue, wear and shearing of the production tubing.
API’s PCPStabilizerTM works in conjunction with the TorqStopperTM in wells that have a history of sheared off tubing. The PCPStabilizerTM is placed on top of the stator and the API TorqStopperTM is positioned at the bottom of the stator. As a result of the function of the API Stabilizer down hole, there is very little up and down movement of the rotor when the pump is stabilized.
LongNeck SideWinderTM
The API "LongNeck" SideWinderTM was placed on a wellhead in the Provost/Sounding Lake region in Alberta. This multi-zone producing well produces oil and gas simultaneously. With the easy access to the annulus, the operator was able to dewater the well using coil tubing and did not have to shut down the well production. The savings to the well operator have been significant, without having to call in service rigs.
The SideWinderTM is used primarily in heavy oil production where the well bore requires frequent clean-outs due to sand, and other debris. With this convenient side entry wellhead design, well operators can access the annulus with coil tubing without the huge expense of calling in a service rig.
